Could this be the best way to get that promotion super fast?

Career planning and job search

Let me ask you a personal question……….

Would you like a promotion? Maybe you could do with some favour, to help you move not only forward but move faster in your career? What would it take? Maybe you don’t really need a promotion. Perhaps, you just need some ‘good breaks’ with your business?

The great thing about this world we live in is…that we really need each other and I mean that in the simplest of sense. No business can operate without customers, no corporation can have a viable, value based business unless there are employees that form part of the team and customers that can benefit from the offering.

The fact is our lives are all inter-twined and inter-connected and the ‘glue’ that holds us together in the very fabric of our community is our relationships. From the postman that brings in the mail, to your boss that sits in the corner office, to our friends on Facebook, to our relationships at home……whether we like it or not, we all belong to some ‘tribe’ and there is a value system that forms the matrix of these individual ‘tribes’. And to belong, we need to pay attention to our relationships.

So if you are looking at climbing the corporate ladder, with some intentionality or simply improving the status of your existing business, you can never truly ignore the powerful impact that relationships have on our success.

A few days ago, I shared this on my Christopher Sajnendra – Life and Success Coach, Facebook Page.

PROMOTION TIP
What STOPS favour, blessings and promotion?#UNGRATEFULNESS .Develop an #ATTITUDE of gratitude to soar.

You see, in order to keep our relationships healthy and whole, we need to know how to value our friends, our colleagues, our customers, our team, and even our families. When we do this, we also benefit from the love, respect and affection that we receive from them.

The reason we feel great, is because at a subconscious level we feel ‘validated’, that we actually matter in this world, and we actually have a purpose for our existence and are not just ‘sucking up valuable free oxygen’ and occupying precious space on this beautiful planet of ours. We feel amazing because we find that we belong and we matter.

And it all flows out from…….living with an attitude of gratitude.

Here is one thing that I have learnt in my own life. No matter how stressful and challenging life becomes, if I just take one moment to stop and count my blessings, every thing changes.

  • My perspective on the problem at hand changes.
  • My negative emotions and thoughts get extinguished.
  • I am able to give more, to love more, to add more value to those around me.
  • In fact I am at my ‘lethal best’ at anything I do.

Now take note of this:

When you develop an attitude of gratitude, you don’t only become irresistible to those around you, they as a matter of fact love being with you. They realise that there is something about you that actually makes them feel great.

So, how do you actually develop an attitude of gratitude?

You simply begin by taking stock of all the good things that are in your life:

Your friends and their love and affection towards you.
The fact that you are alive and in good health.
That you have food on the table.
That you have a partner in life that loves you.
Or you even have a pet, maybe even a dog that loves you unconditionally.

Now, Let’s take this to the next level! Have you ever made a Gratitude List? No? Let me help you.

Let’s get the Gratitude List Done Now!

Why don’t you try this for yourself? Discover the power that it ensures and how you can leverage it for a promotion in every sphere of your life.

Take 5 minutes today, out of your busy schedules and write down 10 things or better still 10 people that you have in your life or are grateful for.

Here is a template to get you started.

My Gratitude List

These are 10 people and 10 things I am grateful for, in my life.

  2. I am thankful for ………………………………………………
  3. It’s a privilege to have…………………………………………
  4. …………………………. makes me feel wonderful.

  7. I thank God for…………………………………………………..
  8. How cool is it that I have……………………………………..
  9. How awesome is it that I can afford………………………
  10. My life would not be the same without………………….

Keep this list in your wallet, your handbags or even on your iPhone and iPads. Stick it to the bathroom mirror. The idea is, for this to be displayed prominently.

Every time, you discern that you are being overwhelmed by negative thoughts and emotions or feel like you are spiralling downwards, pull out the Gratitude List. Start going over the good things that you have in your life, that you can be grateful for.
