Great article with well thought points. Perhaps you could cover a related area in a future article. I'm interested in Strategic Partnerships and Co-branding. They are less formal than complete acquisitions or mergers but just as many things need to be considered for them to be successful (at least based on what I currently know).

Very interesting, especially in terms of adhering to truthful advertising even in social media. It seems that sometimes social media is a place where people think anything goes, and they're a little too prone to exaggeration. I think though as social media marketing becomes more and more established as a valid alternative to 'traditional' marketing, it's so important to keep what you mentioned in mind - that you still have to be able to back your claims up.

I agree that you don't want employees sharing confidential information out in the open via social media or traditional outlets. However, it is important to not over restrict employee use of social media. Many employees see this as heavy-handed management. Employees are also likely to see companies that overly restrict social media usage as out of touch. Many employees can use social media to positively leverage their own position as well as the company's. Clear communication and a culture of adaptation are vitally important.
