Out of all these #3 is critical for me, especially once you get into it. Sometimes what you think is clear isn't really clear so it really pushes your ability to communicate - which is a great learning opportunity :)

Hi Sam, thanks for the great article! Although I agree with you in the importance of having a business page rather than a profile, I would like to add in that profiles let companies and organisations study their customers - what they like, what their interests are etc. Also, it decreses the chance of 'bogus' likes. The impracticalities that you pointed out probably outweigh it though.

Hi Peter, Virtual Coworker has a recruitment team in the Philippines that will find a Virtual Assistant who has extensive experience working with CRM systems and conducting research. They work your time-zone and are available to chat on Skype their whole shift. Essentially, they act as your dedicated employee, just overseas. Regarding CRM, what system are you using? Generally speaking, you would add your VA to the account and they would be able to access everything from their computer. They would save you time by cleaning up leads, updating notes, creating appointments/reminders, etc. For research, you would tell them at the beginning of the day or week what you wanted them to accomplish and they would research and compile reports/spreadsheets as requested. Feel free to ask any more questions! Regards, Kevin Mallen

Thanks for your input Rosie. Totally agree. As discussed at AVAC last weekend, the "value add" a local virtual assistant can add to a client's business.

Great article Michelle - There are so many things we need to consider that people forget all about when they see that initial price. When considering virtual support from any country (your own or others) you do need to look at all the pros and cons of the service in it's entirety. I find most small businesses in particular could really benefit from a Virtual Assistant who can contribute ideas and resources to the business rather than just getting a job done, and to really get that happening, the Virtual Assistant needs to be located in your country (to understand the culture and business requirements) and to be running their own business. For them, the clients's success is a major objective and inspirator.
