Great food, nice atmosphere within. Very unfriendly person at the front desk who had a minor run-in with about a third of my party (very picky over sign in and raffle ticket purchases). Otherwise a good Sunday afternoon visit.
Good for darts and snooker plus 2 pool tables, tab also Excellent!!!
I was totally disappointed as my app wasn’t registering & I was signed in. So I missed out on my free drink which was offered. Also the bistro ran out of Garlic Bread early & I asked if they could modify a meal to a kids meal so I thought that they could accommodate for the kids when I was willing to pay.
A great local club with good staff. But unfortunately they are let down by the substandard bistro. The chinese was very average with the duck pancakes being the only highlight. They offer spring rolls and vegetarian spring rolls and we ordered the former but what we received seemed to be vegetarian – full of vegetables and nothing else. The other Chinese dishes were average at best and were served luke warm. A few of us didn’t go for Chinese and ordered other items from the menu. The fish and chips was probably the best thing any of us had, even though a fisherman’s basket is what was ordered. The lamb cutlets and chips were a decent serving and were good but a little dry. The biggest disappointment was the $14 ‘Angus’ burger which was inedible and sent back. If there was any trace of Angus beef in the patty, it was hidden in with fillers that made the patty taste like meatloaf – really bad meatloaf. At $14 it would have been good value if it was 100% beef with a pinch of salt and pepper thrown in the mix. This was more like 50% beef at best and 50% unknown ingredients. We received a refund for the burger which was a small consolation. We elected not to order a replacement meal and just shared some of the other food around. I hope they rectify the issues with the food because it would be a shame to see the patronage of an RSL club suffer because of sub-standard food. Good food is one of the important things at a local club and this needs to be improved at Matraville. I sincerely hope they do.
Great Rsl with good facilities and a great memoriam for our fallen heroes.
