VA Directory is a network of Virtual Assistants based in Australia and beyond. We connect clients with VAs for their needs and also provide peer support and training for Virtual Assistants. Operating since 1994, we morphed from a home based secretarial business to that of a fully operating virtual assistant business, providing a wide range of services. The owner, Kathie Thomas, also co-founded the Australian VA Association and the Annual Australian VA Conference with fellow VA, Anita Kilkenny. Kathie has won multiple awards for her business and has been many times published in magazines, newspapers, Readers Digest and online publications.

Which geographical areas does your business service?
We service the whole of Australia and many other countries too. Happy to respond to any client queries.
How do you normally charge for your services?
It depends on what is needed. Some services are charged on an hourly basis, others on a package basis.
What are your customers` most frequently asked questions?
How does a Virtual Assistant work? Some clients don't understand how they get the work to us, or how we get it back to them. This is simply explained with an example relating to the corporate world and a boss and PA.
Why should a customer hire your business over other service professionals?
I've been a VA for 25 years (the longest in Australia) and run a team of very capable and efficient VAs, all with a minimum of 5 years' working experience.
What experience, certificates, and licenses does your business have to qualify for the job?
I had 22 years' corporate experience behind me before I began my role as a VA over 25 years ago. That's a lot of experience! I'm also a Master Virtual Assistant and an Accredited Secretary Online. My team of VAs have varying qualifications depending on the services they provide.

I haven't personally seen a great deal of challenge but I know several of my VA members have and yet others are flat out. I think it really very much depends on which industries they are servicing. Those doing medical transcriptions are flat...

There are things you can do to find the right VA for you.Firstly, you need to have a clear idea of what you want done. I find that often clients contact me, knowing they need help, but not really being able to define clearly what they want done....
I'm responding as a long time VA who has seen the benefits that clients have experienced because of my own services, or that of my team members. The important thing is to have some idea of what you need to have done and what you can confidently...
It allows people who have subscribed to confirm they did indeed subscribe. This way, if someone else added their email address, they have the opportunity to ignore/unsubscribe or just rethink what they're doing.
I'd spend it on Facebook advertising and spread it out over several weeks, doing small doses at a time (i.e. $10-15) to test how things are going and to change things up.
I don't outsource mine but do provide this service for clients. The rate very much depends on what each client wants done. Some want just a couple of posts done a week on perhaps 1-3 social media platforms. Others need more often and more...
