What is SEOquake?
SEOquake is a free plugin that you can download and use on your browser (Chrome, Mozilla and Opera). It helps you find important organic research data directly in your browser. When used alongside your other SEO software and tools, SEOquake is a powerful tool that can help strengthen your SEO activities including SEO audits, keyword density, social metrics and backlink analysis.
How does SEOquake work?
SEOquake works by pulling key analytical data for landing pages and domains directly from SERPs including Google Index, SEMrush Ranking data, Alexa Rank and more. These metrics show up visually on the SERPs so you can quickly gauge the status of each web page or domain.
There are also SEObar and Panel tools that give you richer data and insights. SEObar allows you to find out more detailed parameters of any landing page by clicking “Show SEObar”. You can also click on the SEOquake icon for the Panel feature which will then show a pop up on your browser. The Panel shows even more parameters than the SEObar. They are split into three subcategories: Page, Domain and Backlinks and the parameters are shown in relation to these categories.
What can I use SEOquake for?
SEOquake has several features that allow you to delve deeper into more analytical data of any given landing page including:
-
SERP Overlay: Keyword research takes some time and there may be times when you Google a keyword and then analyse your competitors’ pages based on who shows up on SERP. The SERP Overlay shaves off some time by showing you the key parameters from each listing on the same SERP. The data is displayed under each result as well as a sidebar that allows you to sort and export results.
-
SEO Audit: This tool allows you to audit a chosen landing page and assess if there are any technical issues by clicking the SEOquake icon and then choosing the “Diagnosis” tab. You can check for mobile compatibility, site compliance, meta data formatting, ALT attributes and more.
-
Keyword Density: This tool breaks down landing pages by keyword and can sometimes be used to identify your competitor’s target keywords on a landing page. You can check keywords in relation to density, repeats and prominence.
-
Internal and External Link reports: This tool helps you identify the links that exist on a certain landing page which can be beneficial in sussing out the techniques and potential partnerships your competitors use. The report lists each link, respective anchor text and associated parameters.
