What is your mentality to bad business conditions? Spend more on advertising or tighten the belt?
When times are quiet or downturns loom, is your attitude to limit your spending as much as possible or double down on advertising to outfox your competitors?
Great question @Tom Valcanis . It's so easy to feel disappointed when business is quiet. We feel the need to push forward and continue building at all times. It's natural, but part of being a small business owner is not giving up. Doubling down on your marketing during quiet times is definitely a good way to go. I don't think it necessarily needs to come with any spend. Marketing is time-consuming so even small efforts, like preparing your content to use at a later date or reworking your strategy, are going to benefit you in the long run.
It's potentially a good time to pause a little, work a little less in the business and moreso on the business. Being afforded that time can be a bit of a blessing in disguise as you plan/pave the way for consistent leads/clients moving forward and methods to cushion the impact of slower periods which are inevitable..
Agree with @Hatty Bell . It's not necessarily just about spending more money on advertising but looking at your overall marketing strategy.
Good luck @Tom Valcanis !
