How feasible is 30-40k a month doing web design and SEO as a new company?
- Strategic Leader at Lead a Better Business
Hi Dennis - here are my initial thoughts for you:
The feasibility of whether this is achieveable is a broad question. The question behind this that will probably answer the question for is: "How many SEO clients and Design clients do you need to bring into the business to generate $30kpm?"
There are obviously many other factors in terms of delivery, marketing, are you starting with a existing community or from scratch?
I have a friend who has an SEO wholesale program that does all the work for you, and means you make about 70% profit. To do the $30Kpm would mean you would need to bring on about 50-60 clients. So the big question would be: "Can you do this?" So can you?

Is this possible? It isn't out of the realm, but is it realistic? I find it better to aim realistically and be pleased when it surpasses rather than aiming high and constantly falling short.
The two main factors I think are how many people are part of the venture? Is it just you or are there others? How many contacts do you (or you each) have that you can try to tap for immediate work?
Perhaps you know a lot of businesses that need your service now. But do you have enough to keep a steady pipeline of clients for the next 3 months? I would say to plan for consistency rather than huge swings in profit from one month to the next.

You would need to prove a reliable and persuasive ROI to have someone commit at this high level!

HiI think Dennis means revenue from his business. The SEO (old model) ship has sailed, so you could think of more innovative terms, eg: Social influence Automated Marketing funnels - with Web & Landing Page designCreative Viral Marketing If you want to be a leader, don't even mention the usual services up front. They are there in the background. Compete on an uneven playing field. Estimate your Lifetime Customer Value based on two or three services. Just wanted to add, a really useful Entrepreneur article for understanding the modern SEO (Search Experience Optimisation): https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/273868
It's totally unfeasible, unless you have a client. Either several high-paying, or lots of low-paying. What is your marketing strategy for attracting these clients? You're entering such a saturated, highly competitive, price-driven market that your value proposition will need to be outstanding, compelling and unique, in order to build your business.
Lots of good advice in previous answers. Good luck.
