Does anyone use Pinterest for business?
I'm interested in finding out if any of you are using Pinterest.com in a business context. If so, how and what sort of benefits have you derived from it so far?

I've signed up some of my clients to Pinterest, though they work in floristry, and interior design. So the platform works well for them as a visual tool.
I know that Sam Bell at Runway Digital uses it really well to promote her agency's services, and to share resources with her clients and followers. You can see her page here: http://pinterest.com/samanthabell/

It works quite well for design/visual-centric businesses like interior design companies, multimedia, etc.
Not so much for anything too B2B and finance-related unfortunately.

We currently don't use pinterest for SavvySME as mentioned above, it's not great for B2B and also unless you produce a lot of visual content like info-graphics it's also less useful.
If you business is visual you should give it a shot - but really invest time in it if you want results, this means putting up content frequently and actually interacting with the wider community. Interacting is key, just putting up content is not going to get you followers or attention.
It's better to step back and see if it is the right channel for you - usual with social I suggest concentrating on 2-3 channels if you are time strapped - you'll get better results to have a great following on 1 network then minimal following on multiple.
I use it for a lot of my photography clients and a few ecommerce clients. It's much MUCH less useful in B2B than B2C. What I'm finding is that if you understand other social networks, you can understand Pinterest fairly quickly. Hashtags matter on original pins but not re-pins, follow the top users you can find, comment their stuff and just participate on what interests you. The more you involve yourself and promote your pins, the more you'll see from it. At least b2c.
