What can I do with a $100 marketing budget?

Some great answers here!  I specifically like Steve's approach.
$100 gets you a lot of coffee meetings.   My twist on the same idea is to get onto linked in, find your target audience, connect and meet them in Real Life.  Business is about relationships so if you only get 5 good leads from your 50 coffee meetings you are on your way.

What discounted/free stuff can new startups access?

Hi Andrew,  If you are in Australia then the BEC's (Business Enterprise Centres) are a good resource.  They have business advisors on staff that will meet with you and advise you on what free resources are available.  I would also try googling strings such as 'shoestring start-ups'  'free business resources' etc.  Good Luck!

How to start an HR advisory business in Australia for SMEs?

Hi Wajahat,   I have not experience in the HR space per sea, however like all new businesses relationships are going to be your number one referral source for now.  I would be creating some business cards and going to as many netwroking sessions as possible where I could be meeting business owners that are in need of HR advisory.  Good Luck

Have you used Instagram influencers in your business?

Hi Phil, I haven't as yet, however have been considering it for a new product I have released.  On reading on some business facebook groups I am a part of I have noticed that it can be quite hit and miss.

The biggest takeaway I have gotten from my research so far is ensure you have all the right paperwork ie contracts - branding specs etc in place is key.  What are they going to do on your behalf (ie how many posts, what are they going to say, what hashtags etc they are going to use etc)  and How are they going represent you , when , how often etc.

I was shocked to hear how many 'scammers' there are out there - with fake followers, bots etc that will not yeild any results.

I say Go for it!  but, like all business - Do your own research and Due Diligence!

Is having your own mobile app necessary for a business?

HI Anon, this is a question that requires a little more infomation to be answered in any helpful manner because it really does depend on your business.  Can you tell us what type of business you have, and what type of app you are considering.

One factor that you may like to think about is - how much will the app cost you and what you want to achieve by having it.  Is it for making sure people show up on time (an appointmnet setting app)  or is it to buy your products and services from?  Knowing the result you are wanting will help you decide if an app is the best and/or most cost effective way of achieving your goal.
