What makes a great Tech company?

My view is the culture of any business makes it.

If you have the right culture with a market need then you will have a great company.

A culture that supports the goals and values of the company you will have a great business that has cients that are raving fans and will sell the business for you.

How do I diversify my product or service line without diluting my brand?

The first thing you need to look at is why do you want to diversify and second does your avatar want the new products?

Then with this in mind having a chat to a business strategist is the next step.

I have 4 different products and services that reach different markets and have been very successful in doing this and it is totally doable provided you are willing to do what is needed to get them over the humps along the way.

My Story: The Day I Found My New Cheese

I’ve just finished reading a book that was part of the recommended reading list in a professional development course I am currently doing. One book on this list that got my attention straightaway was called “Who Moved My Cheese” by Dr Spencer Johnson. Now this title took my interest because I love cheese, especially with some very good red wine that goes with it, but mostly because the ti...

What would be the top three rules of the social media etiquette during recruitment drives?

Where to start, first point can be included for all types of recruiting and this is assuming you already have a strategy in place.
1. Be clear and very detailed in the position you are recruiting for, if you don’t know exactly what type of person you are looking for and what they need to value to meet your culture how do you expect the possible applicants to know if they are right for the role you are trying to fill. This will save you getting a lot of time wasters apply for the position and if they do you can clearly and quickly remove them as they are not meeting the brief you have created.

2. When you are using social media to recruit have a clear plan on how you are going to get their information and any supporting detail you require, you will need to be open and upfront with them so they know where and how it will all work and so you are not getting their personal details out in the public space. This will show you have respect for them and their privacy from the very start.

3. When using social media for the process be professional, however be more relaxed in the approach, after all you are using social media and not a formal process and it is more relaxed in its approach.
There are so many more so happy to add more if it would help as I have recruited via social media before successfully.

What technology do you find most exciting in relation to your business industry?

As a business strategist and mentor I have found that the introduction
of Periscope has become my number 1 technology tool to get access to a larger audience
than I would have had before.

With the introduction of being able to scope (broadcasting) I am now able
to provide live and instant information to everyone who wants to connect around
topics that are happening right now.

The technology allows
you to provide value to everywhere in the world without the cost of getting
people together in a physical location.

After the Scope has been completed anyone still has the
chance to watch your content for the next 24 hours so you have the potential to
connect and touch a lot of people and this is important as a business
strategist and mentor as connecting with people is what my industry is all
about.
