How do you promote a restaurant located away from the main road?

Hi Wilson,As I look at your website I see that you are a Steakhouse, not cheap and not BYO. Tricky to be the friendly local with that but you can definitely be the special treat so you need to look further afield as well for customers. Your clientelle may not be the instagram type just yet but they will definitely be your Trip advisor type so respond to your negative reviews asap.* work on the SEO of your site so people can find you for what you provide, not just where you are - tell them about your 400 DAYS WAGYU - it's worth travelling for* open for a few lunches Thurs - Fri, and let all the local small businesses know about it - put your blackboard out!* Get onto Google local business as Jason says* Connect with some local hotels (accomodation) closer to the city and invite the Head of concierge for lunch so they can recommend you to their customers *Get some good PR happening in local papers - eat sections and business & food mags/portals so you can tell everyone about Sonleys, those who aren't looking for you today but might like a steak next week.* Don't give away too much too soon - you will find you have a niche market who will pay for the quality of what you do (as long as you do it)Best of luck

What is the best way to market to tradies?

Where do most tradies go at least once a week? To a hardware store. Why not get in front of them in store or online. Offer information right there in a flyer - 10 top tax deductions for tradies etc. - link back to your website (QR code is great here ) with even more tips - acquire their email and send out a tip a month? You will need to contact the stores but pick a franchise and see how you go.

Just a thought.

What is better - SEO, Google Adwords or social media?

Although they all have very key roles in a marketing strategy, SEO should be considered crucial to start. It ensures that you have a very sound website and relevant content for those who know nothing about you but are looking for your service or product. Appearing in search for all the right reasons is key to being an upfront and transparent business and important for any first time visitor to your website.

Accounting

Is accounting software such as MYOB, Xero or Saasu an overkill?

Using a "dedicated accounting software" makes it easier when you start growing and need to get someone in to do your books.  They don't even need a desk in your office if you go with cloud solutions and you can see what they are doing and where they are at in 'real time'. You can get going from as little as $20 a month. It's definitely worth looking in to.
