 content marketing

Content marketing has huge potential for businesses and is currently one of the most successful marketing tools that companies can use. It can be an integral part of a digital marketing campaign, and in comparison to other marketing techniques, it’s relatively inexpensive.

This could be one of the main reasons why over 85% of all marketers all over the world are using this technique with the aim of generating more sales. On average, it costs 62% less than outbound marketing, and if you are only a small business, this can make a huge difference.

Many businesses may be unaware of the benefits of using content marketing. Some of the biggest benefits are listed below.

1. Cheaper

Despite being much cheaper than other forms of content marketing, it is responsible for generating three times as many leads. Therefore, it is hardly surprising that many companies aim to produce multiple pieces of content marketing every single week.

One of the benefits of content marketing is that it can be produced by the company directly. Often there is no need to hire external companies to do the job for you, as who else knows a business better than the company itself. Not only that, but it is another great way to cut down on costs.

2. Variety of Content

There are many different types of content marketing out there for companies to choose from and which one is best to use depends greatly on the type of business, type of customer, timeline, and budget. Research has proven that the use of an infographic is one of the most popular and successful forms of content marketing, as people are 30 times more likely to read an infographic than an article.

Not only that, but they are also liked and shared on social media three times more than any other type of content. This is a fantastic way to get a bigger reach for companies with little to no cost to the company itself. It is for this reason that 71% of online marketers will use infographics in social media as part of their marketing strategy.

3. More Inbound Traffic

Inbound traffic is generated quickly using content marketing as the targeted audience is supplied with information that is relevant to helping them with a particular want or need. It is for this reason that it is favoured by 68% of consumers. The more content there is that provides this targeted information, the more inbound traffic will be generated.

4. Increased Sales

Of course, one of the biggest aims that companies have is to increase their sales. The use of targeted content marketing can help increase the chance that a customer would buy off the site, as the customer already feels like they can trust that particular brand.

5. Brand Awareness

Arguably an equally important factor in a business is brand awareness. Once a company builds up a relationship with their customers, it is more likely that they will return for more. The higher the quality of the content, the greater awareness that is generated for a band.

6. Content Marketing Builds Up Natural Link Popularity

If a company has content marketing in the form of blogs or websites, chances are they can generate up to 97% more leads than other companies without. It can help to boost natural link buildling to give your brand more authority.

Another popular type of marketing is the use of blogs, proven by the fact that over 2 million blog posts are published every single day. A blog can be created by the company in question which can help to save money, and the companies own website can be used as a platform to hold the blog.

Blogs have been rated the 5th most trusted source for information online. Therefore, businesses will use this method to tell their target market about what their business can offer.

Videos are also another key content marketing tool in today’s digital world. They are 40 times more likely to get shared on social media than other types of content, and can also help a page get higher up the rankings on search engines such as Google.

There are many ways that content marketing can benefit a company if used correctly, and it is looking like that it will continue to be a popular form of marketing for a very long time. Many companies have already noticed the importance of different types of content marketing along with their success rate, which only proves that you should jump on board too.

Definitely, this reads like something penned at least 5 to 8 years ago, back in the infographic's hay-day, even though the accredited sources are only two or three years old. There are many influences (both old and new), that have seen the demise of infographics over the years. They remain one effective way of depicting statistical information, when the statistics are informative or better still enlightening. This example unfortunately serves neither purpose.

Savvy move talking about infographics and then using one within the post. I definitely see video starting to out weigh and perform infographics (at least that is my own experience). Also I've been ramping up audio and visual audio (which isn't quite a video in the traditional sense).
