Is your SME affected by the long Australian Summer Holiday?

Our main business platforms are finance, equity placement and consulting and effectively we are in a form of lock down on the first two divisions from around the 15 December to the end of January. I also find only 50% of debtors pay us during this period.

Some SME's are seasonal, so yes, they will be affected in a good way :D

Thanks Ling, I received a direct answer from another reader who told me their busiest time is November to March. In my mind the holiday period was dead. It shows how important it is to think beyond our own experiences when looking at problems.

Funnily enough i have a client from the UK that swears Aussies go into holiday mode from November (Melb Cup etc) through to the end of January (After Australia Day) He loves it over here during this period. I guess for businesses it can be a good time to do a lot of back office work especially in early Jan as most are well and truly in holiday mode or away with their families.
